I commented to Miz about this on FB but holy shit am I happy I have a copy of the original series.
I can’t wait until D is another year or so to give him that book. No childhood is complete without being terrified by the photos in that fucking series.
While Helquist is a great artist and the newer illustrations are beautiful, they just aren’t terrifying enough for this book.
I’m so glad I bought the Scary Stories Treasury of all 3 books (I think it should be called a “nightmareary”) when Borders was closing. Any children I may have will only know the book with the original illustrations.

People of deviantART, let me introduce you to a few websites:
• Flickr.com: You can upload your camera “roll” there. Those 354 blurry photos you took at the anime convention of other peoples costumes and conference panels with your 3 megapixel camera go there. Also feel free to upload your nude pics there that you took just so you can show the internet that you are anatomically correct.
• Imagur.com, Reddit.com, Tumblr.com: Upload your memes there. Other content you can upload there: pictures of cute animals that you did not take, demotivational posters, and rage comics.
• Photobucket.com: All the screen caps from anime, video games, movies and TV shows go. Also this is where you can upload the 52,000 pictures of Justin Beiber, Demi Lovato and other teen sensations.
• Myspace.com: All self portraits containing just your eyes, myspace angles, duck face, cell-phone-in-the-bathroom-mirror shots, and heavily filtered Photoshop edits go here.
